“I recognize you are unique. It’s my belief that our work together needs to be too. What you go through in life doesn’t write the story; you have the pen. I am here to walk alongside you as you rewrite your narrative and gain the freedom that comes with healing.”

—Dani Bettencourt, LICSW

About Dani

Dani is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker who started her career in residential and partial hospitalization levels of care. Her areas of focus include working with chronic illness and disabilities (with expertise in the blind and low vision community), LGBTQIA+ concerns, and neurodiversity as well as anxiety and depression that are often co-occurring. Dani recognizes that everyone is unique and that her work with you needs to be too.

Committed to helping her clients feel understood and validated to better navigate a world that’s not always set up to work for them, Dani guides her clients toward the tools that exist within themselves to find healing.

Dani brings a strengths-based, somatic, and trauma-informed approach to help clients find safety and presence in their lives. She incorporates aspects of Internal Family Systems and Polyvagal Theory into her work as well as uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.

Dani believes in humor and that healing is found in connectedness — to one’s self and to others — and she strives to create a safe and relatable space.

In her free time, Dani likes creative writing, playing guitar, and reading. She also loves nature and enjoys hiking and spending time near water.
