Marriage and Family Therapy Graduate Student | Child Development Specialist | Mental Health Advocate

Renee Zachery is a passionate and dedicated mental health professional currently pursuing her Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy at Northwestern University. With a strong academic foundation in psychology from the University of Colorado Boulder and hands-on experience in early childhood education, Renee brings a compassionate, systemic approach to therapy that emphasizes emotional well-being, relational dynamics, and holistic care.

Her professional journey includes impactful roles at Harvard Avenue School and Our Lady of Fatima Parish School in Seattle, where she supported the emotional and developmental needs of young children. Renee is known for her ability to create nurturing, structured environments that foster growth, stability, and learning. She leverages her background in psychology to implement constructive learning strategies and behavior modeling techniques, always prioritizing the mental and emotional health of those in her care.

Renee’s commitment to service extends beyond the classroom. She has volunteered internationally in Nepal with Give Volunteers, contributing to sustainable community projects and supporting local education initiatives. As a long-standing member of the Alpha Phi Foundation, she has helped raise significant funds for women’s heart health, demonstrating her dedication to both local and global well-being.

Currently seeking a Master’s Level Internship, Renee is eager to deepen her clinical skills, work with diverse client populations, and contribute meaningfully to a wellness-centered organization. She is particularly drawn to integrative approaches that combine mind-body wellness with evidence-based therapeutic techniques.

Training & Education

Renee received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Colorado Boulder and is currently working toward her Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Northwestern University. At OptimalLife Wellness Center, Renee’s work is supervised by Lara Symonds, MA, LMFT, DCEP.
